Masterclass: From Data to Decisions
This masterclass, From Data to Decisions, was designed to demystify computational modeling and its role in optimizing planning and policy decisions. The course shared how models help generate optimal scenarios for projects, and gave illustrations through five case studies.
The course was designed to provide a behind-the-scenes view into how ORG’s team combines data, design and computation to support decision-making at multiple scales, from local to regional to international.
The class presented five live case studies illustrating the use of these models:
Bridging Data Gaps for Climate Adaptation (Lebanon, sustainable land use)
Developing a Shared Vision for Qualitative Public Space (Brussels Capital Region)
Regenerating Deserts through Climate Resilient Agriculture (Egypt, Energy-Water-Food nexus)
Generating Optimal Marine Spatial Plans (Greater North Sea basin, carbon-neutral multifunctional projects)
Informing Decisions for Optimized Mobility (sustainable transport and mobility proposals)
The class concept was initiated by OPOV as a medium for sharing ORG’s work around its bespoke “project calculators”. The event included current collaborators, potential clients and several university networks.
The full masterclass is not publicly available. Reach out to ORG if you’d like more information on its content or services.
